Saturn
we’ve been talking about planets this morning. Otto has decided he is going to spend the second half of his life living on Mars. Talk quickly turned to our favourite planets and both boys stated their favourite planet is Saturn and they particularly love the rings of Saturn..
We headed over to the NASA Space Place website to learn some more.

Did you know that Saturn’s rings are made of chunks of ice and rock! And one day on Saturn goes by in just 10.7 hours. Saturn has 53 moons as well as an additional 29 unconfirmed moons which need more research.

We discovered that four robotic spacecraft have visited Saturn, including Pioneer 11, Cassini, and Voyager 1 and 2. Otto then asked how long it would take to get to Saturn and the discussion moved onto light years.
